Reading tea leaves is thought to date back to ancient China. These days, coffee is just as popular as tea, and you can read your coffee cup in such the same manner as you would read a teacup.

How to prepare your coffee cup or teacup for a reading:
First select a cup that is wide at the top where you drink from, and that has sides that slope. The cup itself should be white or plain in color. Remember to fill your cup without using a strainer.

Drink almost all of your cup, leaving just a small amount in the bottom of the cup. Then take the cup in your left hand and turn it three times in a clockwise direction. Swirl the cup and tip it upside down onto the saucer. Some people prefer to tip their cup onto a bigger plate, and as they place the cup upside down they turn the plate clockwise until the leaves or coffee grounds are spread around the cup. Either way, it's your choice.

Once you have your cup upside down and the remaining liquid has mostly drained, you can turn the cup back up, and hold the handle towards you and look for patterns in the tea leaves or coffee grounds.

Remember that you will need to take into account all of the different symbols that you find in the tea or coffee cup in order to come up with a complete reading. The symbols and their meanings can be found by navigating to your left and right. Have fun!
